The Migrant Worker Development Project will focus on promoting volunteering and developing outreach support services in the Forfar, Brechin and Kirriemuir areas. The project will develop new support and information services at drop in facilities in Forfar and Kirriemuir, promote volunteering in work and learning settings and recruit and place migrant workers. There will be opportunities for individuals to develop their language and other skills, attend training events and get involved in school and community based projects. A network of volunteer interpreters and mentors will be developed to provide translation services and to support and encourage active citizenships and integration. A skills databank will be compiled to help place volunteers.
