Tay Western Catchments Project
| Organisation: | Scottish Native Woods |
| Project Title: | Tay Western Catchments Project (L2RTLAG023) |
| Description: |
Tay Western Catchments Project TWCP launched in July 2007 has surveyed over 1,000 miles of the rivers Lochart, Lyon and Dochart. The area falls within Forth valley and Rural Tayside LEADER areas. The project has been managed by a voluntary steering group representing a range of interest groups and has involved considerable volunteer support and attracted local private finance. A range of riparian management issues and options have been identified in a draft report. Scottish Native Woodland wishes to build on this first phase by consulting a range of interest groups, agencies and local community councils on these proposals and identify a range of costed projects to improve local riparian management. The report will be launched in January 2010 and be used to inform the wider strategic Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board. The project will also provide training in project management, identification and survey skills to senior school students and members of local interest groups. |
