The purpose of this project is to construct a tea room/kiosk made of logs that will use renewable energy sources (wind turbine, air to air and heat pump transfer) for heating and lighting the building. The tearoom will demonstrate the use of renewable energy sources to visitors and provide a venue and retail outlet for students from Forfar Academy vocational catering unit. Young people will also be involved in laying the foundations for the building as part of the alternative curriculum. The tearoom is part of a wider and ongoing community farm development that will engage with young people between 14-19, volunteers and visitors and provide training opportunities in animal husbandry and land based skills.
