 Description: 

The 'Big Sign Up' will run for three months. The project aims to

  • Organise a one day low carbon festival at Cultybraggan that is fun, is run by local people and benefits local groups and businesses.
  • Work with our 56 local organisations and 42 local businesses in advance of the festival to encourage involvement and promote the low carbon agenda.
  • Encourage the involvement of at least 10 low carbon communities across Perthshire and Stirling to share best practice.
  • Engage with the community, local organisations and businesses after the festival to get feedback in order to improve any future events.

The low carbon festival will include an open day at the camp showcasing the potential of the site. the activities of local groups and businesses and national organisations, a farmer's market of local produce., a 'Jailhouse Rock' themed stage/nissen hut run by the Comrie Youth, composting and wormery classes at the Allotments site, five a side football and rugby competitions, an evening music tent with six local and national bands, electric scooters to try out around the site, organised public transport for attendees using the local Community Transport Bus and other regional bus companies to ensure that the day is as car-free as possible.
