The Hill Enhancements, Kirriemuir
| Organisation: | Angus Council |
| Project Title: | The Hill Enhancements, Kirriemuir (L1RTLAG065) |
| Description: |
This project aims to enhance amenity and develop a range of tourism facilities including a Heritage and Nature Trail and bespoke play area on the Hill at Kirreimur, as part of commemorating the birth of J.M Barrie 150 years ago and encouraging more visitors to the area and to Kirriemuir. The new Neverland Play Area will be a major play facility of regional and local importance with many items illustrating the world of Peter Pan and Neverland. It will be furnished with play equipment that is imaginative, distinctive and challenging and will serve many age groups and play experiences. The project will also deliver better directional signage, seats around the Hill for people to enjoy the outstanding views to the Cairngorm mountains, picnic tables and litter bins near the parking area and better access to some of the areas. The surrounding road will be closed off to improve safety and the single access road will be improved. The local community will be encouraged to take part in a community art project, which will be developed along the Peter Pan theme and will possibly also be serving as an entrance feature to the park. |
