A Laing Exposure
| Organisation: | Heritage Service, Perth & Kinross Council |
| Project Title: | A Laing Exposure (L1RTLAG063) |
| Description: |
The project will bring the Laing photographic collection before as wide an audience as possible through the production of 1,000 copies of a high quality DVD of images from the collection (three generations of photographers working from a studio in Blairgowrie, 1930-1993) with associated captions and unique music written and performed by musicians from rural Perthshire. The DVD will showcase approximately 100 images, mainly of Eastern Perthshire, and have a running time of approximately 30-40 minutes. It will be produced with an accompanying text included in the packaging which describes the history of the entire collection and how to access it. The DVD will be shown in a dedicated space at Alyth Museum. Copies of the DVD will be distributed to a range of organisations and groups including: local history groups, schools, care homes. The project will significantly contribute to capturing aspects of the cultural heritage of the area and encouraging visitors to experience a wealth of photographic heritage set to local music. |
