Development of Atholl Country Life Museum
| Organisation: | Atholl Country Life Museum |
| Project Title: | Development of Atholl Country Life Museum (L1RTLAG048) |
| Description: |
The Atholl Country Life Museum, founded in 1982, is home to a unique local collection of artefacts (including a reconstructed Post Office), information and photographs which depict episodes of local social history and celebrate the cultural heritage of the area. This project focuses on upgrading and modernising the entrance to the museum and relocating the historical 'white horse' sculpture to a prominent position above the door. These changes coincide with the proposed boundary changes to incorporate Blair Atholl into the Cairngorms National Park and redevelopment of the adjacent courtyard to form a Gateway and visitor hub. It is hoped that an attractive and modernised entrance in keeping with the local style will not only complement this development but attract more visitors and contribute to enhancing the energy efficiency. |
