Traditional Building Skills - Old Ways for a New Future
| Organisation: | Brechin Townscape Heritage Initiative |
| Project Title: | Traditional Building Skills - Old Ways for a New Future (L1RTLAG031) |
| Description: |
It is widely acknowledged that there is a general lack of skilled building craftspeople in Scotland. This project will seek to carry out an extensive baseline study of the availability of those involved in delivering traditional building skills and rafts across Tayside. By undertaking a skills audit, identifying training needs and producing a directory (hard copy and online) of traditional skills availability throughout Tayside the baseline will inform the development of 2 subsequent projects. Firstly the design and provision of Master classes in traditional skills for existing or new entrants to the industry, secondly developing traditional skills training as an integral part of building skills training to ensure future availability. |
