What types of projects are funded by LEADER?
LEADER projects must be innovative and test out new approaches to rural development. Rural Tayside LEADER will support projects and activities that make a difference and fit within one of the two themes:
In Rural Tayside projects that target young people, women, migrant workers and the economically inactive are a priority.
Projects and activities might include
- training events and skills development
- feasibility studies
- adopting new technology
- cultural activities
- developing new community services, networks and community owned assets
- environmental and renewable energy projects
- tourism and local produce
Cooperation projects Inter-territorial and trans-national
LEADER encourages groups to work together and encourages and supports joint projects developed in partnership with other Scottish, UK and European LEADER areas. Up to 70% funding may be available for trans-national European projects.
For further information about current trans-national co-operation opportunities, please visit UK National Rural Network.
